Doha: Dorsch Qatar, which celebrated its 10th anniversary here yesterday, aims to continue supporting the country’s post-oil future as Qatar’s infrastructures are being expanded and modernised to make way for the realisation of the National Vision 2030, an official has said.

Speaking at a ceremony to mark the Company’s 70th anniversary since its establishment in Munich, and a decade of successful operations here, Dorsch Qatar’s General Manager Hossam Korraa reiterated the Company’s numerous works including its flagship project, the Lusail City. German Ambassador to Qatar H E Dr. Claudius Fischbach and Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, who is a strategic partner of the Company, were also present during the event.

“We have the honour to participate with both public and private sectors in delivering many of the prestigious mega infrastructure and building projects with Ashghal, various Ministries, Qatari Diar, Lusail, and Manateq among many others in a wide field of construction activities. Dorsch Qatar is considered one of the leading engineering consultants in the country, said Korraa.

“And we would like to take this opportunity to thank Qatar for giving us the chance for cooperation to work towards achieving the Qatar Vision 2030, aiming to lead the country into a post-oil future. To this end, infrastructures are being expanded and modernised. Ports, schools, as well as health and sports facilities and public amenities are being built. And Dorsch’s current and future target is to support in these tasks,” said Korraa.

He added: “Our flagship project, the Lusail City, is a 3,500 hectare of waterfront land being turned into a city that will one day be home to around 450,000 people – including commercial and residential areas with open spaces and parks. And with our approximately 600 employees who represent the company’s real capital, and Dorsch’s international experience in over 100 countries, we ensure the sustainability of our achievements”.

Also speaking during the function, the German Ambassador highlighted the Company’s role in bringing German top quality projects to Qatar, which will contribute to sustainable development in decades to come.

He said: “This is 10 years of a real success story that symbolises the fruitful cooperation between Qatar and Germany which serves the best interests of both countries. During that time, Dorsch Qatar has successfully managed, planned, and supervised about 100 infrastructure and building projects worth tens of billions of euros. All of this would not have been possible without the crucial support of the Qatari partners.

“The results achieved are a solid basis for further investments in the future, keeping in mind Qatar’s ambitious ‘Vision 2030’. The German Embassy stands ready, as in the past, to assist both the Qatari government and German companies like Dorsch in their efforts to make this vision a reality,” added Fischbach.

Other officials who also attended the event include Germany’s Deputy Ambassador to Qatar H E Julia Harrer, and Dorsch’s Operations Director Peter Neuschaefer and Regional Technical Director Dr. Sama Manour.
