CAIRO: Oman banned entry of visitors from countries where coronavirus has spread, the foreign ministry said on Twitter on Monday, without specifying countries.

The ministry added that this comes as a precautionary procedure, and will be applied on all ports including land, sea and air.

QNA reports:

More than 2,300 people are currently in quarantine in Oman to stop the spread, Oman's Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Saeedi said on Monday.

He said: “As of 2 March 2020, there are 2,367 patients currently under quarantine procedures. This includes 49 in institutional quarantine, and 2,318 in home quarantine.”.

“The ministry has further strengthened procedures at all points of entry and introduced institutional quarantine in all the governorates of the Sultanate, where a number of places have been designated for quarantine, in addition to organising home quarantine, particularly for Omani citizens.”

“The ministry has developed a comprehensive guide on the institutional and home quarantine and is providing the required medical consultation and care for quarantined persons," he added.
