Milipol Qatar 2016 features hundreds of defence, protection and security products from combat boots to armoured vehicles.
The very first stall features the 'just-launched' bullet-and-radiation-proof vest that can not only stop bullets but also work as a shield against all kinds of radiation including alpha, beta, gamma and neutrons. The vest is produced by NucliRay Defence, Denmark.
Talking to The Peninsula, a representative of NucliRay said various government and private organisations were taking a keen interest in the newly-introduced radiation-proof vest.
More than 230 companies from 35 countries around the world are taking part in the three-day exhibition set up on 7,700 square metres. It also includes five international pavilions from France, Germany and the US, China, the UK, along with new participating countries, namely Algeria, Uganda, Lithuania, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Pakistan, Belize, Jordan as well as a large presence of local companies.
Milipol Qatar provides access to security markets in the entire region and enables key industry players to meet in a fast-developing environment with medium to long-term economic and strategic projects.
The event is known for showcasing the latest innovative products and services and for covering all fields of public and industrial security.
An official of Apolo Engineering, Bulgaria, said that they had brought new range of AP-4 assault rifles to the exhibition. “Definitely our potential clients are security organisations, not the general public or industry,” he said, adding that the company was receiving very good response.
OTOS, a South Korean company, is among those attending for the first time. “We are here with the personal protection products for industrial workers,” said OTOS representative. Master Textile from Pakistan is showcasing the military and police fabrics made by the company. “Master Textile, Pakistan participated in Milipol Paris 2015 and got superb feedback,” he said. Qatar International Academy for Security Studies (QIASS) stall was also a centre of attraction for many visitors.
