Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 216 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 228 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 115895.
The Ministry also announced one new death - aged 81, who was receiving the necessary medical care.
Out of the 216 new cases,196 are community cases and 20 from travelers returning from abroad
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 118,994 and there are 2901 active cases under treatment. So far, 198 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.
Ministry conducted 4914 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 634,745 tests. There are 37 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.
Five patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 65.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
Adherence to physical distancing.
Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
Wearing a face mask.
Washing hands regularly.
