Hamad Medical Corporation recently organised the 5th Qatar Physiotherapy Review Course to raise the standard of education in the region by bringing together international faculty as well as orthopedic healthcare professionals.
Around 130 participant attended the event from different countries and showed very effective interaction in discussions by raising significant questions related to problem solving scenarios .
“The Physiotherapy Review Course aimed to enhance the continual effectiveness of care and treatment interventions following surgeries and bridge the gap between immediate post-operatives and follow-up physical therapy,” said Dr Noora Al Mudahka, head of Physiotherapy Department at HMC, speaking to media.
“It provided residents, specialists and consultants with an exclusive learning opportunity to delve into important physiotherapy related topics,” she added. The 5th Qatar Physiotherapy Review Course featured several speakers including Prof.Robert Donatelli from the US a well known orthopedic physical therapist. He discussed about patient evaluation that can lead to correct diagnosis.
The Physiotherapy Department at Rumailah Hospital serves in-patients and Outpatients across all HMC Hospitals offering timely, individualized and clinically effective specialized optimal care.
Specialised Physiotherapy services at Rumailah Hospital are provided in several specialties for different conditions including orthopedic conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, pediatrics, geriatrics, neuromuscular dysfunctions, acquired brain disorders, pain management, gait analysis and training and aquatic therapy. The Physiotherapy Department has received 123746 in-patients and 187549 outpatients in 2018, according to Dr Al Mudahka.
Musculoskeletal (Orthopedics) Physiotherapy Services are provided with a focus to maximize function, Movement restoration, Strengthening and conditioning exercise regimes, promotion of self-management and work related functional training to return to work and Sports.
The MSK services also manages Traumatic, preoperative, Post-operative, Subacute and Chronic dysfunctions which operates in two shifts of Morning and Evening Clinics of both male and female adults referred for Physiotherapy.
