Doha: Al Gannas has organized a camp for youngsters, Al Maezab Al Saghir, to get them acquainted to the old traditional way of living.
They organized the camp for 24 boys in the age group of 11 to 14-year-olds at the Sealine beach. An area named Sabghat Marmi is earmarked for the youngsters’ camp.
The organisers award top three boys with prizes in four categories. The prizes are for religious affairs, hunting with falcon, conduct at majlis and racing salukis.
Al Qannass organizes this camp immediately after the Qatar International Falcon and Hunting Festival (Marmi Festival 2017).
In the just concluded Marmi festival the total number of participants reached 1421, out of which 850 registered to participate in Hadad challenge — the most popular category of the competition. There was also Al Mazain competition, a beauty contest for falcons.
