Doha, Qatar: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem yesterday laid foundation stone for the first endowment projects of General Endowment Department in Energy City Qatar, Lusail.
Following the eco-friendly green building specification, the project will be developed in an area of about 5,000 sqm to offer official spaces for rent in one of the most sustainable city of the world.
The income generated from the rented spaces of the building will be spent on charity works like serving to Holy Quran Learning Center and healthcare.
Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, Director of General Endowment Department, Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani said that the project will be developed following eco-friendly standards and sustainable goals of the department.
“This project will be followed by two of the largest endowment projects at the state level, namely ‘Jabal Thuaileb Endowment’, which will be the largest endowment project, as well as ‘Marina Endowment’ project in Lusail city,” said Dr. Khalid.
He said that the new project in an area of 4,961 sqm will consist of an administrative building that includes two basement floors containing all the building’s service rooms, in addition to 178 parking spaces.
“The ground floor will have a reception hall and five administrative offices, in addition to three double-height administrative offices, while the mezzanine floor will contain seven administrative offices,” said Dr. Khalid.
He said that the floors are repeated from the first to the third, each will have 12 administrative offices.
Thus, he said: “The building includes a total of 51 administrative offices, ranging in size from 163 to 67 square meters, to provide various options that suit the requirements of the real estate market.”
He said that the facades of the new endowment building are distinguished by their modern design that combines innovation and luxury in Lusail City.
“The building, in its modern style, reflects advanced architectural trends. It consists of symmetrical and attractive geometric blocks that blend perfectly with the glass and aluminum used in the construction of the exterior facades,” said Dr. Khalid.
He said that these projects will contribute to achieving the sustainable development of the endowment through its community, economic and environmental contributions.
The new endowment building is considered one of the environmentally friendly buildings and has received a two-star rating in the GSAS sustainability system by Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD).
He said that the project is committed to achieving the principles of sustainability and environmental protection by using of environmentally friendly materials and renewable energy technology, indicating that the future of Lusail City is full of promising opportunities and challenges.
