DOHA: The defence relations of Qatar and US covering military cooperation and security are very important and growing, said William Grant, US Chargé d’Affaires to Qatar.
“Qatar is playing very important role in supporting our efforts in the region and is a wonderful host of our people at Al Udeid Air Base,” he said.
In an exclusive talk with The Peninsula on the sidelines of Milipol Qatar 2018, he said that the US and Qatar are having cooperation in all military sectors; Army, Air Force, and Navy.
Regarding the cooperation in the field of cyber security between both countries, Grant said: “Between our governments, we are doing more on cyber security because it is threat to all the governments around the world.”
Talking on Discover America Festival 2018, Grant said all events are open to the public, and the US Embassy will be hosting a variety of events throughout the week from October 28 to November 4.
“Today is important because it is also the beginning of our Discover America Week where we promote American products, culture, American presence here in Qatar which is important, diverse and growing. We are pleased to be here. It is a good opportunity for the people in Qatar to learn about American products.”
