Kinshasa: Forty people, including women and children, were killed in an attack by armed men in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The head of the surrounding Babila-Bakaiko locality Charles Kisubi Endukadi confirmed that militants attacked several villages and that most of the bodies have not yet been found.
Since the end of November 2021, the Congolese and Ugandan armies have been carrying out joint operations in an attempt to eliminate armed groups operating in the border area between the two countries, but violence against civilians continues, especially in light of the presence of more than 120 armed groups operating in eastern Congo.
