Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Concert Choir (QCC) announced it is seeking fresh vocal talents, specifically tenors and basses, to join its ranks for the upcoming season.
The choir, known for its exceptional performances, announced the news on its official Facebook page. QCC will be working with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra to mark the orchestra’s 15th anniversary through a series of musical showcases in the coming months.
“We’ll be working with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra in the next few months, in concerts celebrating their 15th anniversary,” QCC said.
Comprising a diverse group of singers hailing from various nationalities residing in Doha, the Qatar Concert Choir prides itself on being an ensemble of selectively chosen voices. While some members possess professional backgrounds in music as performers or educators, the choir embraces individuals from a wide array of professions and musical skill levels. Beyond the shared love for vocal artistry, the choir offers a welcoming environment for social interactions, making it an ideal platform for forging musical bonds and friendships.
Distinguishing itself with a repertoire that spans the challenging spectrum of choral music, the Qatar Concert Choir thrives on pushing artistic boundaries.
“Our repertoire is as diverse as our singers. Covering everything from major choral works from the baroque and classical periods through to contemporary works, traditional Arabic classics, pop music, movie themes and even video game soundtracks — we’ve sung it all,” it said.
The QCC has collaborated performances and recordings with renowned musicians such as the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Doha Baroque Ensemble, Dana Al Fardan, and the CineMoon Ensemble.
The Qatar Concert Choir extends a warm invitation to potential new singers, particularly those with tenor and bass vocal ranges. While not limited to professionals, the choir does require a foundational understanding of music reading or an interest in pursuing its music theory course.
