The Ministry of Culture and Sports has announced it would soon open a new sophisticated section called “Oasis of Manufacturers and Innovators” at the Qatar Scientific Club.

The Oasis of Manufacturers and Innovators is a smart factory that helps creative and innovative youth generate ideas and implement projects. It is considered an advanced technological platform in the region, created and developed by the Qatar Scientific Club (QSC), with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports (MoCS).

During the implementation of the section, several things were considered, including equipped it with all the necessary tools that innovators need and providing an enabling and encouraging environment for innovation. On its official website yesterday, the Ministry of Culture and Sports said: “The Qatar Scientific Club is in the process of opening a new and sophisticated section called “Oasis of Manufacturers and Innovators,” primarily for innovators.”

The new infrastructure will also be a platform to implement innovative projects through compatible equipment of the Fourth Technological Revolution. It would also provide a highly experienced engineering cadre within the framework of the Scientific Club’s plans and projects, geared towards addressing the “COVID-19” pandemic and its developments, the Ministry said.

The strategy of the Oasis is based on promoting a culture of innovative entrepreneurship and provides an effective work environment that encourages innovators and entrepreneurs to continue developing their project models until the production stage. It also contributes to training and exchange of experiences between interested specialists and provides spaces organised according to technical specialisations.

The Qatar Scientific Club seeks to transform innovations that can be implemented in practicality by developing them to become manufacturable and compete in the local and international markets.  Therefore, the Club has established several partnerships with many local and international agencies in this aspect.

It also provides the advantage of obtaining a patent for each innovation that contributes to its goals—obtaining a patent requires inventors to meet specific requirements that may be difficult to attain, especially if it is their first experience in this field.
