Doha: Hamad Medical Cooperation (HMC) has issued tips for safe fasting for children as the holy month of Ramadan is fast approaching.
On their social media handles HMC posted these tips:
1. Children below the age of puberty should not fast more than half a day.
2. Delay Shuhoor (dawn meal) until the near approach of dawn prayer.
3. Shuhoor (dawn meal) should be a balanced meal consisting of carbohydrates, proteins, fruit, and vegetables.
4. Shuhoor (dawn meal) should contain a good amount of fiber which tend to make you feel full for a longer time.
