Doha, Qatar: Doha Bu Thaila, piloted by Soufiane Saadi, maintained her unbeaten run in Qatar, clinching a third consecutive win to secure the Al Waab Cup at Al Uqda Racecourse yesterday.

Wathnan Racing’s four-year-old filly, trained by Alban de Mieulle, fought fiercely to edge out Lulwat Al Faisal by a neck in a gripping 1400m Local Thoroughbred Handicap feature.

The victory sealed a double for Saadi, who earlier guided Osama Al Dafea-trained Ginkeau to triumph in the Purebred Arabian Handicap 75-95 (Class 3) race.

Meanwhile, Nasser Saeed Al Eida’s Gold Fleece delivered another stellar performance, claiming her second straight win and the Keheilah Al Ajouz Cup in the 2100m Thoroughbred Open Race for fillies and mares.

The nine-year-old mare, trained by Jassim Ghazali and ridden by Marco Casamento, stormed down the straight for a commanding two-and-a-half-length victory.

In other races, Alberto Sanna rode Road To The East to victory in the Thoroughbred Handicap 55-75, while AA Kindled Speed topped the Purebred Arabian Handicap 45-65 under Saleh Salem Al Marri.

Emerald Eclipse, ridden by Faleh Bughanaim, claimed the Thoroughbred Maiden Plate, while Al Muthqafah secured the Purebred Arabian Maiden Plate with Abdulla Rashid Al Hajri in the saddle.
