Amir's visit to Damascus opens new avenues for bilateral cooperation, says Syrian Interior Minister

Doha, Qatar: Syrian Minister of Interior, HE Ali Keda emphasized that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Damascus carries significant meaning, underscoring the importance of unity within the Arab world and strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), His Excellency stated that The Amir's visit plays a key role in opening new opportunities for economic and political cooperation between the two nations, marking an important step for Arab countries to contribute to Syria's reconstruction and support its economic and social stability. He highlighted the visit's contribution to furthering cooperation between the Ministries of Interior of Qatar and Syria, especially in areas such as counter-terrorism, organized crime, and other sectors.

He added that the political support for this visit will positively impact regional security, strengthen Syria's role within the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, and facilitate discussions on exchanging expertise and best practices in policing, forensic science, and security technologies between the two nations. He also praised Qatar's ongoing efforts during years of the Syrian revolution.

His Excellency continued, saying that Qatar's role in supporting the Syrian people over the past years has been comprehensive, spanning political, humanitarian, and other aspects. Qatar's efforts have left a significant impact in providing political, diplomatic, and humanitarian support to Syria and its people.

In closing, HE Ali Keda expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to State of Qatar's leadership, government, and people for their unwavering support to the Syrian people throughout the revolution, noting Qatar's consistent position in backing the legitimate demands of Syrians for freedom and dignity.
