The foreign merchandise trade balance, which represents the difference between total exports and imports, showed a surplus of QR19.3bn in September 2021, an increase of about QR12.8bn or 199.2 percent compared to September 2020, and increase by nearly QR0.1bn or 0.3 percent compared to August 2021.
A statement by the Planning and Statistics, showed that in September 2021, the total exports of goods (including exports of goods of domestic origin and re-exports) amounted to around QR28bn, showing an increase of 108.9 percent compared to September 2020, and increase of 2.8 percent compared to August 2021.
On other hand, the imports of goods in September 2021 amounted to around QR8.8bn, showing an increase of 25.7 percent compared to September 2020. and increase of 8.5 percent compared to August 2021.
In September 2021, China was at the top of the countries of destination of Qatar’s exports with close to QR4.2bn, a share of 15.1 percent of total exports, followed by India with almost QR3.6bn and a share of 12.8 percent, South Korea with about QR3.5bn, a share of 12.3 percent.
