Technical seminar held for engineers

Doha: The Qatar Chapter of the Institution of Engineers (India) held a technical seminar on three topics at Ashoka Hall of Indian Cultural Center for its engineers.
Kishore Venkatesan spoke about ‘Introduction to Upstream Offshore Engineering’, highlighting the journey from the origin of fossil fuels, exploration, drilling and the sequence of activities which culminates in supplying crude oil/raw gas to onshore facilities for refining, with some case studies. 
Savious Crasta spoke about ‘Efficient Techniques to Use Plastic in Current Era’ and explained simple techniques that can be adopted by everybody for healthy living. 
Venkata Rao spoke about ‘Green Concrete in Modern Construction’ and said the making of concrete is an art and a science.
He described special types of produced by unusual techniques like fly ash concrete, silica fume or micro silica concrete, GGBS, slag-based concrete, lightweight concrete, self-compacting concrete, coloured concrete, fibre-reinforced concrete, water-proof concrete and temperature controlled concrete (mass concrete). 
Syed Raziullah, Honorary Secretary of the chapter, introduced the speakers and the topics, Ganeshram Ramamirtham, Honorary Treasurer, conducted the event and Devarajan Girishan, Honorary Joint Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks 
Seenu Pillai, Honorary Chairman, presented the speakers with appreciation plaques and also spoke about forthcoming events, including Engineers Day celebrations on October 17.
The non-profit chapter is  one of the most active and resourceful overseas chapters of the institution, working under the aegis of the Indian embassy.
It conducts technical seminars and workshops for engineers in Qatar. The Peninsula
