Doha: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem yesterday laid the foundation stone of three endowment projects in Jabal Thuaileb in Lusail, Al Maamoura and Abu Hamour.
The Jabal Thuaileb project is the largest endowment project in the country, as it includes 25 residential buildings with 881 apartments.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Minister of Municipality H E Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah and Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council H E Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti and a number of senior officials.
Speaking at the event, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani said that the three projects reflect the commitment of the General Department of Endowments to develop endowment projects and fulfil the conditions of the honourable donors, who contribute to enhance societal and economic values.
He said that Jabal Thuaileb project aims to enhance the investment endowment and achieve sustainable development by providing an integrated residential environment.
“The Maamoura project combines an administrative building and a residential complex, which reflects the role of the endowment in providing integrated environments that combine work and housing, and contributes to improving the quality of life,” said Dr. Sheikh Khalid.
He said that Abu Hamour project enhances commercial and administrative activity in the region and contributes to creating new job opportunities and supports the local economy.
“Endowments play a vital role in supporting sustainable development, as the revenues from these projects are directed towards fulfilling the conditions of the generous donors to meet the needs of society and enhance economic stability,” said Dr. Sheikh Khalid.
He said that the role of the endowment is not limited to the economic aspect only, but extends to play a vital role in promoting social values and supporting various governmental and civil institutions.
Director of General Department of Endowments Hassan bin Abdullah Al Marzouqi said, “The foundation stones have been laid of three endowment projects including Jabal Thuaileb, the largest endowment project in the country.”
He said that these projects will contribute to enriching the real estate sector and provide remarkable return which will help enhance social security by supporting different social projects with the partners.
Jabal Thuaileb endowment project includes 28 plots of land, including 25 residential buildings, comprising 881 diverse apartments to meet the needs of different segments of society.
The project also includes a commercial, social and recreational club, and includes sports and health facilities such as squash courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a kindergarten, a wedding hall, a mosque, and a centre for teaching the holy Quran to female students.
It is considered a pioneering step towards achieving the ministry’s goals in supporting religious and social values in society.
The residential land area is 68,999 square metres, while the built-up area reaches 192,575 square meters, with sufficient parking spaces to ensure the comfort of residents.
The second project is located on Haloul Street in Al Maamoura area, and consists of an administrative office building and a residential complex.
The administrative building occupies 30% of the land area, and includes three floors and a basement with 99 parking spaces.
The residential section occupies 70% of the land, and includes 20 villas with various designs, in addition to a recreational and health club that includes a swimming pool and a celebration hall.
The design blends traditional and modern Qatari style. The total built-up area of the project is 12,570 square meters, making it an integrated environment for work and living.
The third project is located in Abu Hamour area on the central market street, with a total area of 14,650 square metres.
The project is characterised by a modern design and advanced infrastructure, making it an important addition to the real estate sector.
The project includes 43 shops, two showrooms, and 89 administrative offices distributed between the mezzanine and first floors.
It contains 187 parking spaces and service facilities in the basement. The project provides an integrated and diverse work environment that meets the needs of small and large companies.
