DALLAS: On the first day of organised team activities, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee was helped off the practice field by trainers after suffering a knee injury.
The extent of the damage was unknown, coach Jason Garrett told reporters.
While Lee left yesterday’s practice, quarterback Tony Romo was back on the field throwing passes and working on handoffs just six months after undergoing back surgery.
Johnny Manziel did not spend his Memorial weekend in Cleveland with his head buried in the playbook.
Instead, Johnny Football hit the road to Las Vegas for a busy few days that was documented on social media sites.
Manziel, the No. 22 overall pick in the NFL Draft earlier this month, returned from the extended weekend and reported Tuesday for the start of organized team activities after the rookie took advantage of a break in the schedule for a brief vacation.
Kansas City Chiefs began OTA sessions, thoughts in the Chiefs Nation were not of the 84 players on the field for the first practice. Instead, the focus was on two absent defensive starters and a quarterback that was present but still does not have a new contract.
Missing were outside Justin Houston and cornerback Brandon Flowers.
No explanations were available for their no-show status at the beginning of the voluntary practices.AGENCIES
