Art Mill Museum 2030 exhibition will end on March 30.
Doha: A number of exhibitions will conclude this week and the following month, and Qatar Creates has advised the public to visit those before they end.
Among these are Art Mill Museum 2030 exhibition concluding on March 30; Forever Valentino and World of Football, April 1; Experience Al Jazeera, April 29; and Lusail Museum: Tales of a Connected World.
“It’s your last chance to see these amazing exhibitions before they end. Don’t miss out,” said Qatar Creates in a statement. Qatar Creates is a year-round cultural movement and a platform for arts and culture in the country.
The Qatar Flour Mills Warehouse and Al Najada Heritage House No. 15 are both hosting the Art Mill Museum exhibition. The exhibition heralds the opening of Qatar Museums’ future museum of international modern and contemporary art in Doha. It also outlines the goal and definition of the museum, which is scheduled to open in 2030.
The Museum will be housed in an industrial flour mill on the Corniche, complete with a creative village and a park designed by landscape architect Günther Vogt. Forever Valentino is the largest exhibit to date and the first to be presented in the Middle East.
Valentino Haute Couture
The collection, which is located at M7 in Msheireb Downtown Doha, includes over 200 Valentino Haute Couture and pret-à-porter outfits exhibited on mannequins by La Rosa, as well as accessories and fashion artefacts displayed in an immersive scenography.
World of Football exhibit is located within the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum and is divided into two halves, much like a football match. The first part, Football for All, Football for Everyone, investigates football’s universal and worldwide appeal.
The Road to Doha is the exhibition’s second part, and it traces the journey to Qatar 2022, from the first FIFA World Cup matches in Uruguay in 1930 through the final at Lusail Stadium on December 18, 2022.
Meanwhile, the Experience Al Jazeera housed at the Fire Station focuses on the Al Jazeera Media Network’s development over the course of 25 years, from a single groundbreaking television channel to a worldwide media phenomenon.
And, the exhibit Lusail Museum: Tales of a Connected World introduces the new Herzog & de Meuron-designed museum that is now being built in Lusail. An exhibition of works by renowned artists of the Orientalist movement from the Lusail Museum is set up thematically over six galleries and enables viewers to examine the flow of ideas and shifting viewpoints.
Admission is free for all of the exhibitions for Qatar and GCC residents, children age 16 below, and One Pass Holder. Meanwhile for tourists, a fee of QR50 is needed to be paid via Qatar Museums’ website.
