New MoI service centre at The Pearl-Qatar

Bringing government services closer to residents, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) yesterday opened a new services complex and Services Centre at The Pearl-Qatar.
Several services related to the Passports and other seven Ministries will be available at the new complex.
The complex was inaugurated by Brigadier Muhammad Ahmad Al Ateeq, Director General of the General Directorate of Passports in the presence of directors of departments at MoI and representatives of various ministries, government bodies and the United Development Company (UDC), master developer of The Pearl-Qatar.
“The new services centre was the 23rd centre, while we have similar centres located in different parts of the country in order to facilitate the public to access MoI services from the nearest places,” said Al Ateeq.
He also added that “All staffs in the new centre are well trained to provide the best services for clients, and the centre will be open now only in the morning hours, from 7 AM to 1PM. Work in two shifts will be determined after assessment."
Ibrahim Jassim al Othman CEO of UDC said, “The opening of the Pearl Service Center is part of the commitment of UDC as the master developer of Pearl-Qatar to provide integrated services with high quality, reliability and efficiency to the people of the island and its institutions in an easy and convenient manner at the required level and excellence in business services within the island.”
“The center provides all transactions which General Directorate of Passports provide including visit visa, permanent visa, Commercial Registration, issuing and renewal of Qatari Passport and ID, in addition to many other services provided by other ministries,” Major Mohamed Zayed Al Khayaren, head of the centre said.
The new services centre operates in two floors. The ground floor is for the services of other ministries and the first floor is set for services of the Ministry of Interior. The centre has been facilitated with spacious hall and special areas for people with special needs and 16 counters that can complete the services within shorter time. Special offices have been accommodated to provide services of Nationality Department for men and women separately, he added.
The Director of Services Complex Department at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Muslim Muhammad Al Rashidee said that the new centre will provide services of seven ministries including Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Ministry of Justice and Kahrmaa and in the future it will include more of ministries. MoI Services Centre offers different services of MOI such as passport, visa, RP and Finger print among the others.
Ambassador Muhammad Abdullah Al Sobaie, Director of Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Pearl Government Services Centre will provide several services of the Ministry for the citizens and residents such as documents attestation and notarial certification.
He also added that the most visitors to the Ministry come to for attestation of documents and that is why the ministry has more than one counter in the centre.
