Amir congratulates Saudi Arabia for winning 2030 World Expo bid

Doha, Qatar: The Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent a cable of congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the occasion of the Kingdom’s victory to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh.

Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani also sent similar cables of congratulations to the King of Saudi Arabia. 

“I congratulate our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on winning the right to host #RiyadhExpo2030 and I wish them every success in organizing a distinguished edition of Expo 2030. We are all confident that this edition will be a unique experience for everyone and will represent a milestone in the history of this important event,” Prime Minister on X platform.

Saudi Arabia was awarded another global event yesterday with its selection to host the 2030 World Expo as the kingdom looks to boost tourism. 

The international fair, held every five years, will run in Saudi Arabia from October 2030 to March 2031. 

The Saudi government has said it planned to spend $7.8bn to stage the Expo.
