Tamimi leads Qatar’s challenge at 26th Arab Squash Championship

Doha: Abdulla Al Tamimi will lead Qatar challenge in the men’s section of the 26 Arab Squash Championship which begins at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex here today.
Tamimi, who lost to Hong Kong’s Max Lee in the quarterfinals at the recently concluded Asian Games in South Korea, is part of the four member team comprising of Saddam Mehawaish, Abdul Wahab Al Ishaq and Syed Azlan Iqbal.
All eyes, however, will be on Incheon Asian Games champion Abdullah Al Muzayen of Kuwait.
The championship is contested in three categories namely Under-13, Under-17 and team event.  
Four countries are taking part in the championship which will end with the team final on Friday.
Hosts Qatar and Kuwait are participating in all the three categories.
Squash powerhouse Egypt have come to Doha without their men’s team and Iraq preferred to give the junior events the go and are focussing only on the team event.
Today’s action begins at 10am in the Under-13 and Under-17 categories. The Peninsula
