Policeman stabbed to death in Kuwait: Media

Doha: A policeman in Kuwait was stabbed to death by a traffic violator early this morning. Kuwait media reported that the policeman, from the Ahmadi Governorate Traffic Department, was issuing a traffic violation ticket to the accused in the Abu Halifa area at 6am and the man stabbed him with a knife until he died on the spot.

Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas quoted a security source saying that the criminal took the victim’s weapon and fled the crime scene in his vehicle.

The source added that the traffic policeman had stopped the killer to issue a traffic violation ticket against him and the violator stabbed him several times with the knife he had inside his vehicle.

Al-Qabas newspaper also reported that an elderly Kuwaiti woman was stabbed to death by her 19-year-old son inside their house in Al-Qusour area this morning.

The newspaper quoted security sources as saying: “As soon as the report was received, the detectives and forensic evidence moved to the victim’s house, and the body was transferred to the Forensic Medicine Department, and investigations are still underway to uncover the circumstances of the incident.”

The newspaper added that initial speculations indicated that the policeman's killer is the same person accused of killing his mother, pointing out that the detectives are working on solving the mystery of the two crimes at the same time.
