This is the last weekend for foodlovers to indulge in the delicacies at QIFF or experience seeing the amazing light installations at Aspire. There are many more activities and events happening in Qatar and we have made a list of the best ones for you.

Museum as Cinemascape

National Museum of Qatar opened today and there is a series of panel discussions happening, giving the Qatar residents access to a roster of leading cultural figures.

Today evening, the Museum will provide a chance to see art films about Qatar showcasing the emergence, growth and development of the peninsula over the years. Directors of these movie will explain how they created these cinematic experience

Qatar International Food Festival

For the first time, QIFF is being held at the Oxygen Park in Education City and will feature three dedicated areas namely O1 for main course specialities and centre stage; O2 for kids-friendly foods and activities and O3 for cafes and light food.

Another of the highlights will be cooking demonstrations by 37 top international and local culinary artists from 17 countries — the largest number of celebrity chefs hosted in any one edition.

In addition to over 150 mouthwatering F&B offerings, QIFF offers visitors vibrant cultural shows, roaming entertainment, and month-long side events offering learning opportunities of culinary craft and healthy nutrition to participants of all ages.

Concert by Korean fusion band Queen

A medley of famous songs by well-known South Korean groups Blackpink and BTS will be among those in the repertoire of Korean fusion band Queen for a concert titled ‘Fantastic Sounds of Korea.’

The concert will see the five-woman band entertain musicophiles in Doha with their distinct musical repertoire comprising traditional and K-Pop music with a twist. The band has been known for introducing Korean culture in many parts of the world by reinterpreting Korea’s tradition from a contemporary perspective.

‘Aspire Wonderland Festival’

Aspire Zone Foundation is hosting a festival titled ‘Aspire Wonderland Festival’.

The festival will be an authentic mix of folk tales from the middle east and the west, as 3D designs will adorn Aspire’s lake with characters like Aladdin, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, and Cinderella. In addition, the festival will use advanced lightening and sound techniques to transform Aspire Park into a fantasy world. Also, Aspire’s lake will see a water fountain transform Aspire park into a majestic world with music.

Spring/ Summer Fashion Festival 2019

Mall of Qatar will be hosting a fashion festival, which will feature the newest collections for men, women and children from over 50 brands across the mall.

The fashion festival will be offering free fashion advice from a stylist, makeup sessions with a beauty expert and a body shape analysis and hair colour consultations.

Fashion show will be held from March 28 – 30 and April 4 – 6.

Oscar Della Lirica

Katara will once again host the seventh edition of renowned International Opera and Classical Music awards ceremony the “Oscar Della Lirica”.

Nearly 20 internationally renowned artistes from all over the world will take part in the ceremony featuring several performances in addition to six of the biggest opera singers in the world. The Doha Orchestra will also be performing at the ceremony.

The Oscar Della Lyrica will host several international presenters who will announce the nominated artists as well as the winners, in three languages: Arabic, English and Italian. There will also be several songs performed live by Opera stars during the event, with music played by the by Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.

Special awards will be given to the Best Youth Male and Female Opera Singers during the event as well as a special award for one of the Qatari artists whose career highlights will be screened during the event. A special finale will be performed by all the award winners.

Johnny Lever Live

Popular Indian stand-up comedian Jhony Lever will be performing live in Doha.

Lever is a very popular Indian actor and one of the first stand-up comedians in India. He used to be a constant comedic presence in most Bollywood movies in the 80s and 90s.

Accompanying Lever in his live tour are his daughter and comedian Jamie Lever and host/comedian Gaurav Sharma.

The tickets are priced from QR75 to QR500 and are available on WanasaTime and Ayna Tickets.
