Muscat: The Omani Supreme Committee tasked with tackling developments resulting from coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has decided to lift the health closure of the Governorate of Muscat as of Friday, May 29, 2020.
Oman News Agency said the committee held today a meeting chaired by Minister of Interior Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al-Busaidi to follow up on developments related to COVID-19 pandemic, preventive measures and ways to prevent its spread and handle its various effects.
It said that the committee also decided to suspend the effect of the decision that exempts employees from attending workplace in government agencies, and the necessity of returning at least 50% of the employees of each authority starting from Sunday while taking specific necessary precautionary controls to curb the spread of the disease.
The committee also stressed the necessity of commitment to precautionary measures that were announced. It urged public and private establishments to set policies, regulations and procedures to ensure the protection of their respective employees, beneficiaries and customers against infection with the disease.
