Doha: The 11th edition of Qumra, Doha Film Institute’s (DFI) annual talent incubator for Arab and international cinema, has announced leading global and national cultural, corporate and media partners for 2025. Qumra 2025 will mentor 49 projects by filmmakers from 23 countries. A highlight of Qumra are the masterclasses and skills development sessions by Qumra Masters Lav Diaz, Darius Khondji, Walter Salles, Anna Terrazas and Johnnie To and other industry experts.
DFI CEO Fatma Hassan Alremaihi said: “Qumra serves as a defining platform for emerging filmmakers to hone their skills and advance their projects under the guidance of accomplished filmmakers and industry experts. These bold voices bring to the world stories that matter to promote a deeperunderstanding of humanity and our shared values. We are thankful to all our partners for their commitment to supporting emerging talent and the development of Doha’s creative ecosystem.”
Qatar Museums and Museum of Islamic Art are Cultural Partners of the 11th Qumra; Qatar Airways is the Official Airline Sponsor; MATAR, the Qatar Company for Airports Operation and Management is a sponsor. The event is supported by Alwadi Hotel Doha-MGallery Collection, I Love Qatar and Aldo Coppola, while Sarajevo Film Festival returns as a Friend of Qumra.
