Doha, Qatar: Under the patronage of Chairman of Qatar Racing Club (QRC) H E Sheikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Thani, the inaugural round of the Qatar Drift Championship for the 2023/2024 season is set to get underway today.
The event marks the beginning of an enthralling season of motorsport with the participants gearing up for an intense competition in Doha.
Scheduled today, the championship’s first round promises an evening of high-octane action as competitors from Qatar showcase their skills in a series of thrilling drift battles. The event, taking place at the Qatar Racing Club, will witness rigorous technical inspections, practice sessions and qualifying trials, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown.
The qualifying trials today will be followed by a second session tomorrow, allowing participants a chance to further showcase their skills. The standout performances from these trials will dictate the matchups for the tandem competitions, scheduled to take place at 8:00pm tomorrow. These exciting duels will culminate in the crowning of the top three winners, marking the grand finale of this adrenaline-packed event.

The 2023-2024 season of Qatar Drift Championship comprises five thrilling rounds. The inaugural round will be followed by subsequent rounds on November 23 and 24. The remaining rounds will be held in February and March 2024. Notably, this season introduces a localised tournament, emphasising the participation of Qatari residents and those residing within Qatar, demonstrating the club’s commitment to nurturing local talent.
In addition to the adrenaline-fueled drift battles, the event offers a range of family-friendly activities. Attendees can enjoy a dedicated children’s play area and a service zone housing various restaurants. Gaming enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to participate in competitive e-gaming activities, adding a dynamic layer to the event.
