National Command Center receives up to 12,000 calls daily

Doha: The Emergency Section at the National Command Center (NCC) receives 5,000 to 12,000 calls daily, said a senior official of the Ministry of Interior.

“Most of these are non-emergency calls, and the average response time to calls is within 10 minutes,” said Colonel Khaled Al Ansari, Head of the Emergency Section. “There are 50 units at the section to receive emergency calls in various languages and dialects including French, English, Filipino, Pashto and Urdu.”

Speaking to a local channel about the role of the NCC, he said the centre considers itself a link between public and authorities concerned in the country.

It is also part of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy that seeks to achieve community development and raise the efficiency of security performance.

Colonel Hassan Al Kuwari, Director of Operations Department at the NCC, said the Department was ready with regards to hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as the centre has been provided with the necessary equipment such as mobile operating rooms. All of the centre‘s operations are carried out electronically, without using paper.

He also spoke about the most prominent technical capabilities of the centre, and technologically-advanced devices that contribute to providing the highest levels of security, as well as the competencies and human cadres that work around the clock to serve the public. 

Also Najm system is one of the most advanced security projects by the Ministry. It aims to provide modern technological systems to ensure security through the rapid delivery of information from the Central Operations Department at the National Command Center to the patrols in different regions of the country, choosing the most suitable and closest patrol to the location of incident. 

The system also connects all the departments of the Ministry of Interior related to security and safety.
