A special Assembly was organised by the Hindi Department of Doha Modern indian School (DMIS) to mark ‘Hindi Diwas’ (Hindi Day) on September 22.
The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about the importance of Hindi language and also to appreciate the value of languages in all walks of life. Students staged a spectacular programme including many cultural items like dances, patriotic songs, poetry recital, speeches, presentation of facts about Hindi and the like.
Some of the songs and dances that were presented by students carried great national themes and also a patriotic flavour.
The students used Hindi as the medium of speech for the entire programme and all those who came on stage did put up a masterly presentation.
The assembly was indeed informative, educative and highly entertaining and there was excitement and celebration among the audience during the entire programme.
The devotional dance in tune with the lyrics of Vandemataram, a patriotic song with a nationalistic history, was a sight to watch and deeply inspiring.
Vinod Bala, the Head of Subject, appreciated the students’ cooperation to make the day’s programme a grand success. Assistant Principal Jacob Mathew congratulated all students for making the Hindi Diwas celebration a memorable event for the entire school community.
