DOHA: In view of the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in Qatar, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has intensified efforts to take action against people violating Covid-19 precautionary measures and has reported 390 violations today, July 26.

The MoI said that 386 people were booked for not wearing masks in places where it is required, while 4 persons were also referred for not installing the Ehteraz application.

The measures are in line with the Cabinet decision on Covid-19 restrictions, all citizens and residents must continue to wear masks in closed public places. These include healthcare facilities, workplace, public transport, mosques, gyms, malls, shops, and cinemas, in addition to other closed public places. This decision took effect from July 7, 2022.

The authorities urged the public "to adhere to the precautionary and preventive measures in force to protect them and others from the spread of the coronavirus."
