Doha: The State of Qatar welcomed the interim ruling issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), especially, for Israel to take all necessary measures to prevent all genocidal acts within the purview of Article 2 of the Genocide Convention in its war against the Gaza Strip, considering the ruling to be a victory for humanity, the rule of law and international justice.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, in a statement today, that the court ruling, issued by a resounding majority, serves as a stark acknowledgment of the grave threat of genocide looming over the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip, prompting an urgent call for the enforcement of provisional measures to safeguard their well-being.

The Ministry reiterated the State of Qatar's firm position on the justice of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Reiterating Qatar's unwavering stance on the justness of the Palestinian cause, the Ministry highlighted its steadfast support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its rightful capital.
