Doha: Veteran shooter Masoud Saleh Hamad Al Athba shot a perfect-15 in the final round to win the Skeet event of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association’s (QSAA) Heir Apparent Cup at the Losail Shooting Range here yesterday.
The 2002 Busan Asian Games gold medallist defeated Khaled Rashid Al Mohannadi 15-12 to emerge victorious.
In the shootout for the third place, Rashid Saleh Al Athba emerged on top setting aside the challenge of Saaed Hamad Abosharib 14-13.
“It’s a huge win and will boost my morale ahead of the Asian Championships and the World Championships,’ said the 39-year-old, a double gold medallist at the 2002 Busan Asian Games.
In the women’s Skeet, Hajar Goulam defeated Reem Al Shirshani to win the top honours.
