Muscat: Rainy winds are expected in northern Oman on Tuesday and Wednesday due to the extension of an air depression coming from India, Directorate General of Meteorology announced Sunday.
The announcement pointed out that variable rains are expected in governorates of Ash Sharqiyah South, Muscat and the Al Batinah South, then extending gradually to governorates of Ash Sharqiyah North, Ad Dakhiliyah, Al Batinah North, Ad Dhahirah, Al Buraimi and Musandam.
During peak hours, 30-80 mm of rain is expected to fall and may lead to the outflows of water in valleys, as well as hail and gusts of active downward winds ranging in speed from 20-40 knot, and it may lead to dust eruption and poor visibility.
There is a possibility of high sea with the maximum sea level reaching four meters high.
Omani Civil Aviation Authority advised people to be cautious and never risk crossing valleys nor sailing.
