Dust storm causes low horizontal visibility; traffic authorities caution motorists

Dust mass affecting the country with visibility as low as 2km or less, stated the Qatar Meteorology Department. 

In its daily report, the department warned of strong winds and low visibility for the day with Northwesterly wind at a speed of between 12 and 22knots, with gusts up to 32 knots at times. 

Offshore will be dusty, the report added, warning of strong wind with high sea and poor visibility, where the northwesterly will blow from 15 to 25 knot gusting to 32 knot at times.

The expected highest temperature in Doha is 41 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the traffic department also warned that a traffic accident has resulted in congestion on the Doha Corniche Road, in the lane coming from Ras Abu Aboud Intersection. It cautioned motorists to drive carefully and slowly to ensure road safety.
