Doha: Lusail Sports Arena will stage the WTT Youth Star Contender Doha 2022 from March 7 to 11, the World Table Tennis Association (WTT) announced yesterday.
Top-ranked players in their categories are expected to visit Qatar to take part in the competition, which will be held amid strict precautionary measures against COVID-19.
Singles and doubles titles in U-15 and U-19 categories for both and female players will be decided during the five-day event.
Registration to participate in the tournament, which started on January 20 will continue until February 11.
Meanwhile, the 2021-2022 Men’s Table Tennis League Championship will start in Ras Abu Aboud today.
Organisers will ensure implementation of all health protocols, the Qatar Table Tennis Association said yesterday.
A total of five matches will be played in the opening round today.
