Pearl GTL is a joint development between Qatar Petroleum and Shell. It is the largest energy project in the state of Qatar and at $18–$19bn is Shell’s largest single investment in a single project.

The Oil and Gas Middle East Awards recognise the best organisations, projects, and people who contributed to the delivery of world class projects in the industry. The award ceremony was attended by distinguished representatives from the Middle East’s oil and gas community.

Wael Sawan Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Shell Companies said “I am honoured that the Pearl GTL plant received this prestigious award. It’s recognition of the commitment and dedication of all the teams and individuals who have contributed to the successful delivery and reliable operation of one of the most innovative energy plants in the industry. This engineering marvel is the outcome of our long-term partnership with Qatar Petroleum, which offered unstinting support throughout the delivery of the project.”

“Pearl GTL is one of a kind asset and provides long-term opportunities for the industry by offering exciting alternatives to monetizing gas resources. I am proud that in collaboration with QP we have been able to build a lasting legacy that will generate long term value and revenues for the state of Qatar and Shell.” , he added.
