Doha: English Modern School (EMS) has implemented a new research-based curriculum called the Second Step program to help develop and practice positive social skills and thus attain social-emotional learning.
It is through this character education program where children are learning how to understand and manage their feelings, how to make friends and be a friend, and how to solve social problems.
The goal of our 1st parent workshop is to discuss the ways in which families and caregivers can practice these new skills at home to help children develop better social skills. Our learning and instructional team met with parents recently to provide information and guidance on developing these strategies.
The workshop was a lively discussion with thoughtful questions from our audience of parents which tell us EMS parents evenings to come in future will surely be just as successful.
