Doha: Shiekh Faysal Khalifa S J Al Thani recently opened the seventh outlet of Grand Express Hypermarket and Superstores’ in Umm Garn.
The outlet was opened at a gala in the presence of Grand Mall Managing Director Dr. Anwar Ameen Chelat; Regional Director Ashraf Cherakkal, CEO Shareef BC, General Manager Ajith Kumar, and Chief Operations Officer David Ford, and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, Shiekh Faysal lauded Grand Hypermarkets, Qatar management for opening yet another hypermarket in Qatar that would be a boon to consumers living in Umm Garn and the adjoining areas off Shamal Road, Exit 24 expressway. He praised the Government of Qatar for initiatives that are rapidly expanding the country’s real estate footprint sustainably.
“I am honoured to launch Grand Express Umm Garn branch, the seventh hypermarket in Qatar. This reaffirms Qatar’s rapid economic growth. Dr. Anwar Ameen and his Qatar Regional team have done Qatar proud by matching international retail and hygiene standards which they continue to uphold post-COVID-19 pandemic, and welcoming fans for the World Cup. I wish Grand Mall team every success,” said Shiekh Faysal.
In his address to the gathering Dr. Ameen, said, “The launch of our seventh hypermarket is the result of the diligent work of our team. We were able to achieve this success with the support of the relevant ministries and municipal authority. I appreciate the time spared for us in presiding over this launch by Shiekh Faysal, and his support to Grand Hypermarket, Qatar Group.”
Dr. Ameen added that Grand Express Umm Garn will serve citizens and residents in this part of Qatar and the attraction to shoppers would be a wide range of products at competitive prices.
Grand Mall Regional Director Ashraf Cherakkal said one feature of Grand Hypermarket newest outlet is that it gives local entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and producers one more sprawling retail space to display and market their products to consumers in Qatar.
“This Hypermarket will give a big boost to local businesses as well as regional and international brands,” he added.
CEO, Shareef added that the continuous support from the authorities, customers and team members will lead the team to achieve more success for Grand Hypermarkets in Qatar
Umm Garn resident Abdulla said, “A new Hypermarket in this locality will be convenient to people living here because this would spare us the trouble of travelling to Doha for shopping.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Ameen said Grand Hypermarkets, Qatar will open four more outlets within the next six months – one Grand Mall and three Grand Express outlets.
“These outlets will create new jobs for citizens and residents in Qatar,” he added.
