Some parts of the country are expected to receive rainfall in coming days due to increased humidity favouring cloud formation.
With the beginning of autumn season from yesterday, temperature is expected to fall in the evening, according to an expert.
“Thursday was the last day of summer. Now we have entered autumn leading to some natural weather change,” Abdullah Mohammed Al Mannai, Acting Director of the Department of Meteorology, Civil Aviation Authority, told The Peninsula.
Speaking on fall in mercury due to transition in the season, Al Mannai said that the temperature will fall in the evening but days will be hot. There is some local cloud formation with chances of scattered rain at northwest part of the country. High humidity leads to formation of cloud.
Qatar Meterology Department tweeted with a picture of raining in Al Jamiliya yesterday evening. Low visibility has also been forecast due to fog from 4am to 7am.
Today Abu Samra would have the lowest minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, followed by Messaid and Al Khor at 26 degrees Celsius each. Dukhan expected to have one degree more at 27 degrees Celsius as minimum temperature. However Al Ruwa and Doha would have 29 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively. Abu Samra would have the highest maximum temperature at 41 degrees Celsius, followed by Doha, Dukhan and Al Khor at 38 degrees Celsius. Messaid and Al Ruwais would have 37 and 36 degrees Celsius respectively.
Weather inshore in Qatar until 6am today will be some clouds and hazy to misty at places by early morning, while offshore it will be fine, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report, warning of poor visibility expected at places by early morning.
The humidity in Doha is expected at 70 (maximum) and 35 (minimum). The higest humidity would be in Al Khor at 85 (maximum) and lowest humidity in Abu Samra at 20 (minimum).
Wind inshore will be northeasterly to northwesterly at a speed of 3 to 12 knots becoming variable less than 6 knots later. Offshore, it will be mainly northeasterly to southeasterly at a speed less than 10 knots. Visibility will be 4 to 8km or 2km less at places by early morning. Sea state inshore will be 1 to 2 feet, while offshore it will be 1 to 3 feet.
