2015 Qatar Summer Festival to end with two concerts

Doha: Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) is preparing to wrap up the month-long Qatar Summer Festival on a high note this weekend with two concerts. 
Remaining tickets for the performances on August 27 and 28 have been made available at Entertainment City thousands visit daily.
In addition, the ‘Sabah Rabah’ social media competition on touristic sites in Qatar, will offer daily winners the chance to win free concert tickets throughout the last week. Questions are shared on QTA and the festival’s social media accounts, and aired on the Sabah Rabah show aired daily at 9am and repeated at 2pm on Al Rayyan TV, the festival’s official media partner. 
Gulf stars Balqis Fathy and Rabeh Saqr will perform on August 27 in the first concert at Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah area, near Al Sadd Sports Club, which seats over 7,000. 
Syrian star Asala has been rehearsing her hits in Gulf dialect for the concert on August 28, including the song Listen to Your Voice’s Echo were written by Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashed Al Maktoum. 
Asala will also perform songs from her newest album, 60 Minutes of Life, released recently in Egyptian dialect. 
Celebrated newcomer Saad Lamjared will perform alongside Asala and has prepared a line-up of his most popular hits so far. 
Despite being new on the scene, the Moroccan sensation’s latest release Lem’allem has received over 115 million views on YouTube. 
Ticket prices for the shows start at QR199. Doors open at 7pm and special women-only seating areas are available. 
The final weekend of the festival will also include Doha Comedy Day featuring stand-up comedy pioneers from the Gulf such as Bader Saleh, Ibrahim Khairallah, Fahd Al Butairi, Ahmed Al Shammari and Ali Al Sayed. The event will be hosted by Qatari comedian Hamad Al Ammari.
The festival continues until August 31 and targets visitors from the GCC with entertainment activities for families in a festive, safe environment that reflects their culture and heritage. This year’s edition is expected to drive up inbound tourism numbers with new attractions, special hotel rates and weekly raffle draws with prizes.
