Qatar attends Arab Health Ministers’ Council meeting

Geneva: Qatar participated in the 57th session of the Arab Health Ministers Council, held in Geneva yesterday prior to the opening session of the 75th World Health Assembly meetings.

The delegation of Qatar to the meeting was headed by  Minister of Public Health H E Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari.

The meeting reviewed a number of important health issues, most notably the health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, and the occupied Syrian Golan, as well as the unified speech of the Council of Arab Health Ministers at the 75th session of the World Health Assembly and the follow-up to the efforts of the Arab Fund for Health Development to support the health sectors in Member States.

The 57th session gave high priority to nursing and midwifery, as it discussed the project to renew the award for the best distinguished activity in nursing and midwifery in the Arab countries, in addition to setting an Arab strategy for the development of nursing and midwifery until 2030.
