Doha: World Cup’s Group D minnows Tunisia came up with a spirited performance to draw their opening match against much-fancied Denmark 0-0 at Education City Stadium on Tuesday.
Tunisia showed fighting spirit from the start of the match played before a big number of their supporters who cheered their every move and tackle.
Both sides had one goal each disallowed due to off side.
Goalkeepers Kasper Schmeichel (Denmark) and Aymen Dahmen (Tunisia) had a memorable evening blocking a number of shots while Tunisia’s energetic midfielder Aissa Laidouni won the hearts of many for his attacking play.
Group D rivals France and Australia will meet in fixture at 10pm on Tuesday.
