Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has asked campers to create their accounts with National Authentication System for winter camping registration which will begin today.
“The campers are required to create an account with National Authentication System before October 22 to make registration for winter camping season,” said Director of Public Relations and Communications at MoECC, Mohammed Ahmed Al Dahi.
In a video posted on X platform of MoECC, he said that the registration will be through the website of MoECC (camping.mecc.gov.qa)/National Authentication System.
“Registration for booking spaces for the six-month long 2023-24 winter camping season will open today and close on October 31 for all designated areas,” said Al Dahi.
However, he said that the season will begin on November 1, 2023 and will conclude on April 30, 2024.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change denied the news circulating regarding allowing the people of Sealine and some areas to begin camping from October 19, 2023, stressing the need to adhere to the official dates announced on October 10.
The Ministry called on people to take news from its official sources, which are the Ministry itself, and not to pay attention to any incorrect news issued by unknown sources.
That registration for booking places for camping in designated areas will be made in three separate stages.
Registration for central regions will take place from October 22 to 24, while registration for the southern regions will be open from October 25 to 27. In the northern regions, registration will occur from October 28 to 31.
The ministry would also allow in-person registration at the committee offices in all camping areas across the country from October 22 to 31, 2023, in conjunction with online registration.
The registration process for in-person attendance at external departments of the ministry will be open from November 1 to 10, 2023, subject to available spaces in case there are unreserved slots.
The permit holder must pay permit fees and insurance fees within six hours of receiving the text message confirming the approval of the application.
Otherwise, the application will be considered invalid, and re-registration will be required. The ministry has also updated conditions and requirements for camping.
To prevent the environment, MoECC will hold an awareness camp in Sealine area of Khor Al Adeid Reserve, which will be dedicated to awareness and recreational activities.
A number of programmes and competitions will also be held and prizes will be distributed for the best winter camp that preserves the environment. Over 2,000 plant seedlings and 2,000 packets seeds of Sidr, Ghaf, Samar, Al Awsag and Al Silm local trees will be distributed to campers.
