Saudi Arabia reveals specializations needed for Special Talent Residency

Doha, Qatar: Saudi Arabia has unveiled the proficiencies needed to be eligible for its Special Talent Residency Programme. 

The details revealed on Premium Residency Centre website invited exceptional professionals in executive leadership, healthcare, science, and research who can contribute to developing local capabilities and exchanging knowledge.

The following are the specializations that enable expatriates to obtain Special Talent Residency. Healthcare and life sciences, digital technologies, financial services, advanced manufacturing, space and defense, energy and circular economy, metals and mining, logistics and transport, tourism infrastructure, and technologies in food and agriculture. 

There are several categories in research and innovation and these include space and aviation, environment, water and agriculture, energy, materials and production, health, urban transformation and logistics and digital technologies.

Saudi Arabia on January 10, 2024, announced five new categories allowing eligible applicants to sign up for premium residency permit. The five categories then announced were skilled and talented individuals, gifted talents, investors, entrepreneurs and property owners.   

Once permitted, the permit holders will benefit from premium residency status for parents, spouses and children, exemption from the fees imposed on expats and their dependents and companions, exit and return to Saudi without requiring a visa.

They are entitled to obtain visit visas for relatives, use tracks dedicated to citizens and GCC nationals at airports. The entitlement to work in the private sector and move between establishments applies to the husband, wife, and dependents, including the daughters' and sons' dependents.
