Tamimi crashes out of Qatar Circuit 2

Action from the Qatar Circuit 2 Squash tournament at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha yesterday. The quarter-finals will take place today. The final will be held on December 23.

Doha:  Home hero Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi and Syed Azlan Amjad both crashed out of the Qatar Circuit 2 ending Qatar hopes in the three-day championship.
Yesterday at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, Iker Pajares Bernabeu of Spain defeated Tamimi in 3-2 games.
The Spaniard, who made it to the main draw through the qualifying route, took 52 minutes to overcome the sixth seeded Qatari 10-12, 6-11, 11-9, 11-3, 11-8.
Tamimi  started on a brilliant taking the first two games but flattered at the next three as Bernabeu made a splendid recovery to win the encounter and book a place in the quarter-finals.
Bernabeu will clash with  Danish Atlas Khan of Pakistan who took nearly one hour to get past a fighting Ammar Altamimi of Kuwait in 3-2 games (11-5, 4-11, 7-11, 12-10, 11-5).
The other Qatari player in action today, Amjad lost in straight games to Egyptian opponent Omar Abdel Meguid.
The top seed won 11-5, 11-7, 11-7 and faces Youssef Soliman of Egypt in the last eight clash.
