Doha: Qatar Foundation (QF) has put out a statement on the social media that all QF centres at the Education City will remain closed on Monday as the staff is addressing weather-related impact on some of our facilities.
US Embassy in Qatar also tweeted that they will be shut on Monday due to weather conditions.

The Embassy in a tweet said that “the U.S. Embassy in #Qatar will be closed Monday, October 22 due to weather conditions. All Consular services and ACS appointments for this date are cancelled.”

William Grant, Chargé d’Affaires at US Embassy, took to twitter to thank the local authorities for working around the clock to clear up flooding around the embassy.

Meanwhile, Qatar foundation said that “they have taken swift measures to address the impact of yesterday’s unprecedented extreme weather on QF’s operations, after almost a year’s worth of rain fell on Doha in just a few hours.

“Due to weather-related damage to some buildings, and hazards on surrounding roads, we yesterday temporarily closed QF HQ and all QF centers and entities at Education City to ensure the safety of our community - which is always our top priority.

“We are making strong progress in addressing the weather-related impact on some of our facilities. However, all QF premises at Education City will remain closed tomorrow (Monday, 22 October) and reopen only when we are completely satisfied that safety is assured.”
