DOHA: In order to enhance the experience of both exhibitors and visitors alike, Hospitality Qatar 2015, the 360° hospitality & HORECA show, will include two very special features: the Salon Culinaire and the Mocktail competition.

A show-stopper at Hospitality Qatar 2015, which will take place from October 13 – 15 at the Doha Exhibition Centre (DEC), the Salon Culinaire will attract country’s leading chefs to compete across fifteen categories. The Salon Culinaire is organized and co-organized by IFP Qatar and the Qatar Culinary Professionals association (QCP) respectively. It will be supervised by the World Association of Chefs Societies for Africa & the Middle East (WACS) and judged by 10 regional and international judges. The QCP is an association of professional chefs, recognised under WACS.

“QCP is very proud to join hands with IFP for the 1st approved World Chef Salon Culinaire competition in Qatar, hosted as part of Hospitality Qatar 2015.  Our support for the competition reinforces our mission to provide chefs with the necessary tools to develop their career while creating a network of chefs from across multi-unit foodservice operations in the Middle East,” said David Sosson, QCP President.

Moreover, to add some zest, Hospitality Qatar 2015 will also include a Mocktail competition, which offers an opportunity for HORECA bartenders to test their knowledge and to compete against each other for the tastiest mocktail in Doha.

Supporting that initiative, M Naveed Abdulla, Business Director at Gulf STAR Group, said: “STAR Hospitality is proud to be the Official Sponsor of the Mocktail competition in Hospitality Qatar 2015. We are hosting a Mocktail training on October 12 and a Flaring training on October 13  that is open to all participating bartenders so they can practice and hone their skills,” he added. The jury for the competition will comprise two renowned bartenders – one local and one regional – and STAR Hospitality is awarding gold, silver and bronze trophies to the top three winners respectively.

“The winner of the gold trophy will also get a one-night stay for two at the Banana Island Resort by Anantara inclusive of all meals,” said Abdulla.

This regional event which is licensed by the Qatar Tourism Authority, will be one of the premier events to feature all aspects of the hotel and franchise market in the Gulf region and represents a platform for local, regional and international HORECA suppliers to meet hospitality professionals from the entire region. It will also allow franchise brands, hotel groups, developers, banks and consultants to network and create new business opportunities with hotels and franchise investors.
