DOHA: The Ministry of the Interior, represented by the Community Police Department is set to organize a campaign to raise awareness among winter campers around coastal areas of the country.
The focus of the campaign will be on the children who are with their families in the camps to sensitize them about the subjects related to their safety during camping.
The drive is being organized in collaboration with a number of departments concerned with security and safety aspects and will start next week until February 2019.
Col. Sultan Mohammed Al Kaabi, Director of the Community Policing Department, said that the Department has completed its preparations to launch awareness campaign for the campers in the winter camping season 2018-2019. “The continuation of the campaign for the fourth consecutive year confirms that the previous campaigns have achieved a big success.”
He pointed out that the campaign for this season will be far-reaching covering camping sites as well as other parts of the country.
Lt Col Hamed Mohammed Al Mohannadi, Head of Community Policing Affairs at the Community Police Department, said that this season’s campaign targets as many camps as possible in different areas of the country, in order to enhance the security and safety procedures in the camps and reach a season free of accidents and injuries.
He also said: “What encouraged us to continue the campaign annually is what we have seen from the positive interaction of the campers with the awareness team in the previous years. The awareness campaign for this season comes with the support of the Qatar Charity.”
The awareness teams are keen to urge the campers to take care of the safety aspects of traffic in all the camps where there are many cars and motorcycles.
