Doha: Due to the heavy rainfall received during the first part of the day, Qatar National Library has announced that they will be closed tomorrow. They have cancelled all the events also.
Due to the weather condition they had an earlier closing today as well as the Library was shut by 2pm.
The roads leading from QNL to Doha also witnessed massive traffic jam and some readers informed The Peninsula that they had spend hours to get back home.
“We’d like to assure everyone that the safety of our users and visitors is our highest priority. Despite today’s weather conditions, the situation at the Library is fully under control and all our visitors, staff members, and our collections are perfectly safe.
“As heavy rain is expected to continue & for the safety of our users & staff, the Library will be closed on 21 October. All events on that day will be cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” QNL tweeted.
Authorities have warned people to stay indoors and to venture out only in case of necessity. Some colleges inside the Education City has announced that they will not be having classes tomorrow.
Education Ministry has said that they are monitoring the situation and will take decision according to the weather condition.
