364 people referred to prosecution for violating Covid-19 precautionary measures

DOHA: Authorities referred 364 people to the prosecution for Covid-19 precautionary measure violations on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that 361 people were booked for not wearing masks in places where it is required. 

According to a recent Cabinet decision, masks are required to be worn in closed public places.  These include healthcare facilities, workplace, public transport, mosques, gyms, malls, shops, and cinemas, in addition to other closed public places. This decision took effect from July 7, 2022. 

Besides this, three persons were also referred for not installing the Ehteraz application. 

The authorities also urged the public "to adhere to the precautionary and preventive measures in force to protect them and others from the spread of the coronavirus."
